Brief History of the Faculty

The Faculty of Management Sciences used to be part of the erstwhile Faculty of Social and Management Sciences with the establishment of Department of Banking and Finance in 1985/1986 academic session among the six Departments viz-a-viz: Banking and Finance (now Department of Finance), Economics, Geography, Political Sciences, Psychology and Sociology that formed the then Faculty of the Social Sciences established in the 1982/83 in the then Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti). In 1991/1992 academic session, two additional departments namely Accounting and Business Administration were established to join the existing one. On 1st of August, 2000, the Departments of Accounting, Banking and Finance and Business Administration were calved out from the Faculty of the Social Sciences to form Faculty of Management Sciences as an autonomous Faculty.
