PROFESSOR S. O. ADEUSI

Professor Adeusi has a working experience as lecturer, researcher and administrator of about 29 years post qualification as at January, 2021 in tertiary institutions. He attended St. George’s Catholic Primary School, Ado Ekiti (1970 to 1975), Ado Grammar School, Ado Ekiti (1975/76 1979/80), Ondo State College of Arts and Sciences, Ikare – Akoko for his Advanced Level between 1982 and 1984 academic sessions. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Banking and Finance from Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University), Ado Ekiti, Masters in Business Administration from University of Ilorin, Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Finance, University of Calabar and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Banking and Finance from the University of Ado – Ekiti, Nigeria (now Ekiti State University), Ado – Ekiti. He joined the University employment as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Banking and Finance (now Department of Finance) on 2nd January, 1992 and rose to the position of a Professor of Finance on 1st October, 2017.
Professor Adeusi, in his teaching career in the University since 1992 has served in various capacity as Chairman/Members of various committees, Coordinator/Acting Head of Department, Coordinators as well as Deputy Director of Academic Programmes within the University as well as rendering services to the community among others. He is currently the acting Dean of Faculty.
He is currently member of some professional bodies among which is Associate Member, Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Nigeria; Fellow, Nigerian Society for Financial Research, Fellow, Institutes of Industrial Administration of Nigeria, Fellow, Institutes of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Fellow, Royal Institute of Chartered Administration and Management Technology.
His research interests have been mainly in the areas of Informal Finances and Rural Economic Development; Small and Medium Scale Financing, Financing of Agricultural Development, Banking Operations and Management as well as Financing Economic Growth and Development. He has to his credit over sixty (60) published articles and academic textbooks in reputable peer review national and international journals and textbooks both singularly or co – authored. He also taught basic Banking and Finance and related courses over the years and supervised several projects both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has attended and presented papers at local and international conferences/workshops. He has also served as editor to a couple of international journals, academic assessor/reviewer, external examiners to many universities as well as on the Accreditation Team of University Academic programmes by the National Universities Commission. Professor Adeusi is married with children to Mrs. Adunola Olayinka Adeusi.
